Artist Statment…

Irish based artist Mark E. Howard’s work practice is occupied around the application of traditional photographic and darkroom practice as a medium in contemporary fine art today. His work explores the wider creative potential of the darkroom, and the experimental employment of the materials that are established within traditional mediums of photography in endeavoring to create contemporary fine art photographic works.


Education

'He holds a Master’s Degree by Research exploring the question of ‘The Chemical Darkroom as Source of Ongoing Potential in Contemporary Photographic Practice’ from the Limerick College of Art and Design.

He has received an Honors Degree in Fine Art Photography, Film and Video from Limerick College of Art and Design.

He has also received a QQI level 5 in photography, a QQI Level 6 in Advanced Photography from Limerick College of Further Educationand A Higher Professional Diploma in Photography from London City and Guilds.
